In the past couple of years, we have seen many 4th generation idols display a level of charm and talent that makes them suitable for not just the music stage but also acting too. These idols, through their personalities, wits, and interactions with others, often make us feel like they will do exceedingly well in a drama or movie.
1. TREASURE’s Choi HyunSuk
Choi HyunSuk is an entertainer and we will be glued faces to our screens in anything he appears in. In real life, his bright and cheerful personality is one that makes people easily attracted to him. Translating that to a series, a comedic horror series would be perfect for him. Perhaps a more fleshed-out character from “The Mysterious Class” where he also showed off his budding acting skills. In this proposed series, he is the funny character in the series, he is very close to the main hero and treats him like a brother. His character is loud, and jovial, and oftentimes, his funny personality makes people not take him too seriously even when he is screaming his lungs out while being chased by a flesh-eating zombie. However, he is strong, fierce, and dutiful. Amidst his screams and running for safety, he tries to help others around him, even when the bad guy (there is always going to be one) tries to be selfish and use others to save himself, he uses his wits to help others, even to the point where his life might be at stake.
2. ATEEZ’s WooYoung
ATEEZ’s WooYoung is funny, smart, athletic, a speedster, and a scaredy cat all in one. Since debuting to date, in various variety show contents, we have seen him grow to be more confident, vibrant, and chaotic. These traits will be best suited for a role in a horror series. Playing the character of the silly friend who makes a joke about everything, he is the mood maker, even though everyone else around him is afraid to die or turn into zombies, he somehow makes them feel okay, with his silly jokes. Viewers would think he’d be the first to go but when it comes to survival, he is smart as a fox and quick like a cheetah.
3. BAE173’s Lee HanGyul
Lee HanGyul is an idol who deserves to be cast in more dramas because if refined and mastered, we believe he has the traits to become a very successful acting-dol. With visuals that can fit into any concept, a horror series could be one he also excels in. Playing the role of the supporting character in a religious horror series. The main character, a girl he has a crush on, is kidnapped by a group of fanatics, seeking to infuse their beliefs in the minds of residents of a small town. They use force in the name of religion and kill anyone in their way. The police cannot stop them and many caves to their power. From brutal killings in the name of sacrifices, they wreak havoc on what was a safe and sane town. HanGyul’s character is a university student in Seoul. Smart, diligent, and resourceful, there is no question he doesn’t know the answer to and no situation he doesn’t have the solution to. Seeking to take a break and relax, he decides to move back home. Seeing the craze that has ravaged his community, he joins forces with his old friend, who is set to save his girlfriend from the cult leader. Relying on his problem-solving skills and his ability to discern quickly, he is a vital character who helps brings an end to the madness in the town.
4. ONEUS’ LeeDo
LeeDo is smart, confident, witty, and with the right set of humor. He exudes a level of charisma that shines so blindingly bright and makes us in awe of his aura. Having conquered the stage with his charms, it might be time to dip his toes in acting. And a horror genre might be the perfect water temperature before the full dive. Playing the role of a free-spirited teen, along with his friends, he attends the housewarming party of a mutual friend. Unbeknownst to all the guests, their friend has been murdered by a shapeshifter with supernatural powers who has been living in the house for centuries and has taken his form. With a thirst for blood, what starts off as a fun night immediately turns bloody as people start to die one after the other. With no means of escape, the friends must try to discover who the killer is, and how to leave the mansion.
5. Ciipher’s Tan
Tan already showed his budding acting prowess in the hit series “Ghost Doctor”. Impressing lots of viewers with his skills then, and now that Ciipher’s promotions for their amazing comeback “THE CODE” is over, it might be time for him to pick up another script. And a horror series would be a good option. Playing the role of an athlete in a teen horror series. His character is kind but he is quiet and reserved and people fear him because he single-handedly defeated all the senior bullies in school. He just wants to finish high school and move on with his life. However, his countdown comes to a halt when a zombie apocalypse breaks loose on the school. For the most part of the series, he is seen fighting his way through a horde of zombies as he tries to save himself and others. He continues to risk his life for others till the end. In a stereotypical series, he might have died a hero’s death but in this series, he doesn’t just save others but himself too.
