Ha SungWoon is a soloist who has a cloud-like presence to HA:NEUL (his fandom). He is well-known as a former member of the boy groups HOTSHOT and Wanna One. You might also recognize him from his time on the Mnet survival show “Produce 101 Season 2”. If you’re new to Ha SungWoon, here is some basic information about him. He was born on March 22, 1994, and has always been a dreamer. When he was young, he had a talent for jumping in athletics and wanted to become a high jump athlete. He was also an exceptionally bright student and one of the best students in his school. In his middle school days, he discovered his passion for singing and started preparing to become a singer. He auditioned for JYP Entertainment, making it to the final round, and also entered the K-Pop faculty at the university that he was attending. It was during a university performance that he was scouted. Ha SungWoon debuted as a member of HOTSHOT in 2014.
During his days as a HOTSHOT member, Ha SungWoon became well-known for his smooth and sweet vocals. Since then until now, Ha SungWoon’s vocal ability is characterized by his attractive tone and solid vocalization. With a wide vocal spectrum, he can sing any genre and changes his style accordingly, solidifying his vocal ace status. He is also famous for his stable live vocals and effortless delivery of high notes, which will have you doubting your ears at how good they are. More than anything, his voice is always described as a cozy entity that wraps you in its warm embrace. Check out this cover of ‘Appearance’ that he performed.
Ha SungWoon participated in the survival show “Produce 101 Season 2” (2017) and became known to even more K-Pop fans for his passion, perseverance, talent, and positive personality.
The show helped show his overflowing charms in a short amount of time, especially when he went viral for this cover. Although it was a short clip, it became a defining moment in his career.

He would not only dominate the stage with the way he did intense choreography but also capture the audience’s attention with every second that he was on stage. In fact, he gained admiration from the panelists for this, too. Although he is largely celebrated for his vocals, Ha SungWoon is also an exceptional dancer. He has beautiful dance lines and combines that with dynamic power to show impactful stage presence. He especially loves challenging himself by trying new and difficult dances. Making it to the final lineup of the show, Ha SungWoon debuted as a member of Wanna One in 2017.
With the skills we have mentioned above combined with his lovable personality, Ha SungWoon swiftly made an even bigger name for himself as a member of Wanna One. When he was part of both groups, he was the mood maker and happy virus of them both. Even now as a soloist, he lights up the room when he walks in and makes those around him smile. However, his Wanna One era really made people fall in love with his vitamin-like persona. After Wanna One disbanded, Ha SungWoon made his solo debut in 2019. Although he had written and composed the song ‘Flowerbomb’ for Wanna One in 2018. Ha SungWoon’s solo debut not only allowed us to see more of his upgraded talent but also allowed fans to engage with his music on a more personal level. As a talented composer who produces his own albums and thus has a number of songwriting and composing credits under his belt, he has truly lived up to his title as a musical genius by sharing more of his self-made music as a soloist. One of his most recent releases which is a must-listen is this B-side from his 7th mini album “Strange World” called ‘Daylight’.
You might be surprised that he is talented in so many aspects of music, but his talent doesn’t stop there. He is an industry all-rounder booking OSTs, acting gigs, modeling gigs, variety shows, radio DJ gigs, and even MC gigs. This is why he is considered one of the most well-rounded soloists in K-Pop at the moment. As we said in the title of this article, Ha SungWoon is a cloud-like person to HA:NEUL. In fact, his nickname is Gureum. ‘Gureum’ means cloud and stems from the ‘Woon’ in Ha SungWoon’s real name. ‘Haneul’ actually means sky in Korean and the ‘ha’ syllable in his fandom name incorporates his surname, as well. You can tell that he thought very deeply about his fandom name and what it meant regarding their relationship. Ha SungWoon is like the clouds that fill his fans’ sky to always be together come rain or shine. This sentiment matches well with his personality, too. He is sentimental with a huge sense of empathy and affection. Ha SungWoon is a social butterfly who gets along with everyone. He is a caregiver and makes sure that those around him are taken care of. He also prides himself on his critical thinking skills and honest nature. He has a strong mentality and takes anything on after thinking about it carefully. With a humble attitude, he approaches life like nothing is impossible without hard work. Additionally, is well-known for his unrivaled energy that is often comparable to a ray of sunshine. Let’s take a look at just how brightly the visual of his rays shine. Ha SungWoon is well-known for having pretty eyes with a puppy-like quality. His skin is also famous for its porcelain standard. He has bold attractive features that draw you into his aura, too. We should take a moment to appreciate his status as a hair color king, too. No matter the color, Ha SungWoon looks like a dream. Here are some final random facts about Ha SungWoon. As we hinted at before, Ha SungWoon is super athletic. He enjoys sports such as wake surfing/boarding, bowling, and badminton. He has a unique and adorable way of speaking that makes your heart melt once you hear it. Lastly, he looks so handsome in glasses that fans are almost baffled by how well they suit him.
Unfortunately, Ha SungWoon is currently in the military and will be serving for 18 months.
