At the time of writing, LUMINOUS’ music video for ‘All Eyes Down’, the title track from their latest mini-album, has reached 11 million views on YouTube, marking a major milestone for the group.
Kpopmap had the incredible opportunity of interviewing the young geniuses of LUMINOUS, who opened up about their new year’s resolutions, their stage personas, meeting fans for the first time in person, and more. LUMINOUS earnestly shared that their goal for 2022 was to reach more people and give them comfort and strength through their music. They further revealed that their music was not just meant for fans but for society at large so that audiences of a wide age range can resonate with them. As for fans, the group highlighted that it was a huge gift to be able to meet them in person last October and perform for them live. When asked about the biggest difference they felt between the time they spent as trainees versus now, Steven shared that the biggest difference to him was that now, as an idol, he could communicate with fans and understand their likes and dislikes whereas, for WooBin, it was a surge in his self-confidence. In the course of the interview, the conversation turned towards the members’ stage presence and how they were different on and off the stage. Suil emphasized that he always tries to distinguish between his self on stage and his real self off of it. On the contrary, YoungBin shared that he focused on merging his two identities so as to never forget his true self even when he is essentially playing a character on stage. Finally, at the end of the interview, LUMINOUS taught me (ever so patiently, might I add), the point choreography for “All Eyes Down”, looking dashing as ever. You can watch the full interview below!
